Finding a date for Slughorn’s party can be more challenging than expected.

  • I always thought Harry should have ended up with Hermione. Ginny’s relationship with him seemed rushed.

  • Hermione: *snap* Hey! She’s only interested in you because she thinks you’re the Chosen One.
Harry: But I AM the Chosen One.

  • Jill Laybourn and Shaylee Johnson, I feel like in the books they should have ended up going to the party together, and then end up together after a great night. ? I officially ship them.

  • I always shipped Harry and Hermione. They should’ve ended up together.

  • They had better chemistry than any other “couple” in the series. They should have been together.

  • Hermione loves Ron and Ron always love Hermione. They both complete each other. I am glad they grow together and finally develop strong feelings romantically. Harry and Hermione just never be that way. Ron and Hermione all the way!! ❤️❤️??

  • I think it’s very interesting that people ship Harry with Hermione. But one of the reasons why Harry wouldn’t really like Hermione romantically is because she was too emotional for him to handle all the time. Even in the books he kept a distance when she was upset. It’s one of the main reasons why he and Cho Chang didn’t work out. Girls who are super emotional were too much drama for Harry. Harry liked Ginny because she could handle her own and she didn’t get super weepy and emotionally dependent on him. When Hermione got upset when Ron hurt her feelings, she was upset for days. Ginny doesn’t stay upset for long and tries to move on quickly, especially after Harry broke up with her to protect her later on in the books. She understood where he was coming from and although she still felt strongly for him, she continued DA when the Golden Trio left to find Horcruxes. Yes, Harry and Hermione have great chemistry but chemistry isn’t always romantic – it’s because they’re best friends and have been since they were kids. But Harry never liked Hermione in that way, regardless of what people ship. I mean, I get it, I don’t understand what she saw in Ron in her younger years but hey – canon is what it is, and I adore Harry and Hermione’s friendship; a great example that you can be best friends with someone of the opposite gender and not have any attraction at all. It’s great!

  • If you thought Harry and Hermione belonged together… read the books. Seriously.

  • I always loved that Harry and Hermione’s relationship was so rich and yet completely platonic. We need more friendships portrayed in media like Harry and Ron’s and Harry and Hermione’s. Friendships full of love, but not of the romantic or sexual kind. ?

  • I hate to say thing, but if there’s ONE thing that JK Rowling is bad at, it’s teen romance. I still think she’s a great writer, but teen romance just isn’t her thing. The problem was that a middle-aged woman was trying to write the romantic mind of a teenage boy, and kinda missing the mark. Harry’s romance with Cho was a mess. And the thing about Ginny was that Rowling had completely failed to set up any romantic feelings Harry might have had for Ginny before Book 6. The movies screwed it up even worse when it came to Ginny. Harry’s feelings pretty much came out of absolutely nowhere, and I agree he should have been with Hermione. For all her planning, I think the decision to do Ginny came last-minute to her.

  • Ooh please, Harry and Hermione is the worst idea … There is no “life” in this shipping. Maybe Harry is the chosen one, but it is Ron who was chosen by Hermione’s heart since the day they first met ;-).

  • Hermione deserves someone who can challenge her mind, keep her thoughts engaged. And neither Harry nor Ron could do that. Remember they both had poor grades. Everyone always thinks Harry was so much smarter than Ron, but it just wasn’t true. Also thought Hermione could have handled being married to Krum too because she would have her own life and not be super clingy or jealous. She should have married a professor or someone else at the Ministry of Magic. I liked Ron and Luna. She seemed smitten when they first introduced her; she mentioned seeing him at the Yule Ball. ?

  • Dont u people think….Ginny kept finding joy….she used to care about Harry in her surroundings …. Despite she kissed Dean Thomas….
Also she was best chance maker… When Hermione, Ron and Ginny were talking about advanced potion books Harry kept reading everywhere…. Ginny hold Harry’s hand and carry him to requirement room to hide that book…. She knew that that time was the most correct time to attract Harru towards her… And wisely she did so…. And with that beginning she ended up with THE BOY WHO LIVED

  • This movie sucked. Completely left out the Marvolo Gaunt storyline and had Michael Gambon playing a character with almost the exact polar opposite personality of the book Dumbledore.

  • Still to this day, my OTP is Harry x Luna. I was so mad when no one believed Harry in the Goblet of Fire yet Luna was there and talked to him about her mother’s death and she liked Harry for him not his fame.

  • I always felt like people who shipped Harry and Hermione watched the movies first than read the books. The books from the outset really show that these two are only going to be friends, much like the first two movies. I mean in Chamber of Secrets, Hermione does not even think twice about hugging Harry her best friend but with Ron she is so much more awkward. You can already see a development of feelings. As for Harry, Chamber of Secrets was when I knew Ginny would be his future. Saving someone’s life creates an unbreakable bond. Plus, Ginny allows him to fully be part of the Weasley family. Something that he has always wanted.

  • Ginny was never a match. Hermione was friend zoned long ago. I think if Rowling really wanted to create a love interest for Harry, she should have done a better job at writing it in rather then just picking Ginny as there was never much chemistry there at all.

  • I love Hermione and Harry together romantically. I thought it was always too cliche that they all end up in the same family and live happily ever after.

  • Hermione deserved better than Ron. Epitome of a woman “settling with a man” right there. Harry would’ve been a better option but honestly neither Harry nor Ron were well suited for her.

  • Chemistry doesn’t always mean romance. I have great chemistry with a few male friends that we know it’s best to stay side kicks.

  • I honestly think the series would have been better and more drama if Rowling HAD done a romance between Harry and Hermione, and turned it into a love triangle between him, her, and Ron. Yes, I know this technically was a love triangle, but only from Ron’s angry and twisted point of view. How much more exciting would it have been if she actually HAD done a love triangle?

  • I’ve been rereading the books (again for like the 50th time) and noticed that it is ALWAYS Ron coming to Hermione’s defense and it is Ron who Hermione turns to when she wants comfort.

  • I never shipped Harry and Hermione, but I agree that his relationship with Ginny could have used more “screen time” in the books. They spent a whole summer together at the Burrow, but we never got to read about how their relationship developed. And the movies definitely didn’t do it justice either ??

    Anonymous May 19, 2018 9:34 am
  • Harry and Ginny worked in the books, as i’m sure they were written to.
But in the movies, Harry and Hermione would have made a far better couple. Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson have a chemistry that Dan just doesn’t have with Bonnie Wright.

  • JKR, thank you for everything you’ve given us. There is no need for negativity in this post. Ships or not guys be respectful. She’s the author, she made choices. You don’t have to agree with them, they are what they are.
